Moneual Silver Care Robot

Targeted at independent living for older people, Moneual‘s Silver Care Robot is an air purifier that moves around the home to clean the air and improve the air quality, much like a Roomba does for dirt. But the robot also monitors the vital signs of an owner who is wearing wristwatch-type monitor. In the event of emergency, the robot can summon assistance via a wireless internet connection.

Built on Microsoft’s Windows 7 with a touch screen, the user can access simple functions such as playing music or making a voip call.

Available later in 2011 for over $8000.

Toshiba Windows 7 Tablet

Todd casts his eye over Toshiba‘s upcoming Windows 7 tablet, with a larger than usual screen, Atom processor and dual cameras. Being very early to the booth there was no one really available to talk to yet, but as you can see the Toshiba folks appear to be in prototype mode, I am not sure what I think of the overside monitor on this one, but their were tablet designs for every possible utilization.

Dia Wireless Picture Frame for Parrot

The Dia wireless digital picture frame by NoDesign for Parrot takes digital picture frames to a new level. It’s genuinely stylish, drawing on the visual design of traditional light boxes, with the backlight separated from the LCD.

It has both Wifi and Bluetooth compatibility and the ubiquitous iPhone app to send pictures directly to the frame.

Coming later in 2011 for around $500 for the 10″ wireless version. Expensive, but you know you want one.

Casio’s Hybrid-GPS Camera

At the Casio booth, they showed off the EX-H20G Hybrid-GPS camera. This is a 14.1-megapixel camera that will track your location inside buildings or other places where no GPS signals can be received. Casio is calling this hybrid-GPS. The hybrid tracking is performed by a three-way accelerometer and a three-way direction sensor.

The camera also has over 10,000 world-wide landmarks programmed into the camera for locating points of interest. This allows you to see how far you are from the nearest landmark.

Other features of the camera are: 24 – 240 mm wide-angle zoom lens; 360-degree panoramic image mode, and h.264 formatted video.

Epocit Dual Sided Apple Accessory Magnetic Case Holder!

One of the biggest problem about carrying the iPod or Nano around, especially if you are a runner or walker is that they are too easy to drop. Which can lead to broken screens and other damage. One solution is being offer by Epocit which is offering a dual magnetic case for the 4th generation iPod and fifth generation Nano.

They expect to have a case for the iPhone sometime in 2011. You slide your iPod or Nano into the one sleeve and then stick the other piece inside your cloths where you want to carry it. Place the iPod or Nano with sleeve on top and it will stay. Since it weighs only 4 oz you hardly notice it. You can run, walk, dance, do what ever you want and it will not come off. Need to change something on the device, just pull it off along with the top sleeve, make the change and slap it back on and you are all set.

If you turn your device around so the front glass is facing the sleeve, this will protect the glass on the device if you happen to drop it when you are switching location.

So if you are a bit of a klutz or are rough on your iPod or Nano the Epocit maybe exactly the case you are looking for. Epocit says they are still working to get distributors for the case but expect it to be available for around $29.00 at multiple stores, and will come along with an optional arm band.

RCA Launching Android TV!

At CES 2011 RCA unveiled their version of Android TV – yes, a TV that runs not Google TV, but Android itself. It’s not available yes, but it’s well into development – far enough that they could show it off at their booth. In fact, they are talking about a possible Fall 2011 release. The big selling point for an Android TV is obviously apps. That’s what everyone found so lacking in the recent Google TV rollout – the lack of any apps to allow users to customize the devices.

Internet connected TV’s, on their own, are becoming more and more common and have certainly come a long way since the first ones that featured Yahoo widgets only a few years ago. Now with Android being ported to the big screen it could be a whole new step forward for the connected living room.

New Canon HD Pro Cameras XF Series

The new Canon pro line of cameras was unveiled at CES 2011. We saw such products as the Mini XA10, a small but powerful video camera that will be good for on-the-go shooting at remote locations. There’s the XF100, a slightly larger, 50 MB/Sec camera that should hit the market at somewhere around a $3000 price point. But the most exciting new addition to the Canon line is the , which will retail for about $4300 and feature SDI out and storage space for two compact flash cards that will be capable of duel-recording. That’s a bargain price for this powerful of a device.

The new products that Canon unveiled on the video side should all be on the market in the near future, if they aren’t already. The prices we listed are estimated MSRP, but shop around and you may do even better. You can get a close-up look at all three of these new cameras in the video below.
