Outlier Introduces Swagg.com & Android And iPhone Apps

Outlier Inc. announced a new website, Swagg.com. It’s also available as an Android and iPhone app. It’s based on market research done by Outlier with a goal of making the shopping experience more convenient. It allows shoppers to give a gift card in a unique manner – with a bow that unwraps (virtually speaking) and soon can include a personalized picture or video. If you aren’t sure which gift card to get for that certain someone then you can even send a Swagg gift card which the recipient can exchange for one to their merchant of choice.

The apps and website also allow shopper to receive offers, but only for the types of categories or location they are interested in – the location offer is similar to Groupon. In addition the mobile apps will enable consumers to carry virtual versions of gift cards, reward cards, and the like so that you always have them with you when you’re on the go. It will even tell your your remaining balance on a gift card – no more writing it on the back with a Sharpie as I have been doing.

Gunnar Premium 3D Eyewear

gunnar
gunnar

Gunnar was at CES this year showing off their new lines of glasses for gamers, programmers and any other computer user. These glasses help reduce eye strain as you work. Of course, they are also stylish and cool to wear.

However, Gunnar also showed off their new 3D Premium Eyewear line. Glasses that work with different standards of 3D, of course, giving you a stylish look. The lenses are Circular Polarized, RealD™ compatible lenses.

After all, the worst thing that can happen is you getting a pair of 3D glasses from the movie theatre that have been worn before and a ding in the side of the frames makes wearing the glasses uncomfortable.

Visteon Turns iPad into Car Dashboard Control

visteon

In continuing our talks with Visteon, we found they have created a prototype to a dashboard docking station for your Tablet or smart phone. However, this dock is made for another reason. To turn your device into your side dashboard.

Visteon is developing an iPad Car Dash Application, which literally turns your tablet into the car dash control. You can control the temperature, radio stations, comfort of the driver / passenger and more. It pairs to the car so you don’t need to have the tablet mounted to control.

Best part is the buttons can be placed in more useable areas, like the steering wheel. You can even have a tablet control connection for the back of your vehicle if needed.

Combine Touch, Swipe, Button Technology in Cars: Visteon

visteon
visteon

Dashboards have changed. Gone are the days of push buttons, sliders and dials. Or are they really gone?

While at CES, we found Visteon – a company that researches how we do things like control our cars from the dash. They know that not everyone wants a touchscreen in their car. They want that tangible button to push or the dial to turn.

However, Visteon has gone one step further.

With strides they have made panels without buttons. However, when you slide the slider or push the button, you get a touch response. That way you have a button that is not really a button.

Visteon also works to make three technologies work in harmony. Buttons, touchscreen and swipe technology combined can give a driver a distract-less environment. They can then keep their eyes on the road.
