LG Smart TV, Smart TV Set Top Box

lg

LG is getting into the Over the Top TV game.

Well, in all reality, LG was already there. They were the first to put Netflix in Blu Ray players. Smart TV’s and Smart Blu Ray players with applications like Vudu let you do more. So getting into Smart TV is a natural progression.

LG also is adding great content to their boxes. All the applications you would find in other STB’s, but also a web browser for those shows you cannot get.

The remote is good, but if you got a smartphone, you can pull that out and have an extended remote control. The screen is more graphically intense separated into four groups. Games, entertainment, groups and more.

The Smart TV Set Top Box will be available Q2 for $129.99

REESE’S Minis and Chris Pirillo?

We saw email on a big (little) announcement from Reeses before CES started. It piqued my interest, for sure. So when we saw the booth, we knew that technology has taken a turn for the better.

Smaller Peanut butter cups with no wrappings.

Chris Pirillo was on hand to hand us a handfull of the handy chocolate – Peanut buttery goodness known at REESE’S Minis. They are bite-sized and come in a big bag, so your miniature appetite can be miniaturized by the miniature goodness.

we stopped to talk to Chris, who explained why REESE’S decided to launch the Minis at CES.

OWC — Other World Computing — High Performance Aftermarket SSD Drives

Grant Dahlke from introduces Sandforce processor-based high capacity, high-performance SSD (solid state drive) hard drives for computers such as Apple’s Macbook Air that are up to three times larger and up to 22% faster than the drive than Apple’s OEM drive. They also have a line of drives for older IDE and ATA machines, which enables much better performance from older computing hardware due to the much faster read/write times of solid state drives as opposed to the performance of conventional spinning hard drives.

dish network

Remember when you went out to the woods to camp? Remember the tents with no TV or satellite? Remember the tailgates with just the little Webber in the back?

Never again.

Dish Network has the Weinguard mobile HD satellite. It is the dish that you can watch HD programming while on the road. The best part is that Dish offers monthly plans so you are not paying for a service that you don’t use year round.

So if you are the travelling enthusiast, the rock band or just the tailgater that wants to never miss the action, Dish Network has the answer for you.

Outlier Introduces Swagg.com & Android And iPhone Apps

Outlier Inc. announced a new website, Swagg.com. It’s also available as an Android and iPhone app. It’s based on market research done by Outlier with a goal of making the shopping experience more convenient. It allows shoppers to give a gift card in a unique manner – with a bow that unwraps (virtually speaking) and soon can include a personalized picture or video. If you aren’t sure which gift card to get for that certain someone then you can even send a Swagg gift card which the recipient can exchange for one to their merchant of choice.

The apps and website also allow shopper to receive offers, but only for the types of categories or location they are interested in – the location offer is similar to Groupon. In addition the mobile apps will enable consumers to carry virtual versions of gift cards, reward cards, and the like so that you always have them with you when you’re on the go. It will even tell your your remaining balance on a gift card – no more writing it on the back with a Sharpie as I have been doing.

Gunnar Premium 3D Eyewear

gunnar
gunnar

Gunnar was at CES this year showing off their new lines of glasses for gamers, programmers and any other computer user. These glasses help reduce eye strain as you work. Of course, they are also stylish and cool to wear.

However, Gunnar also showed off their new 3D Premium Eyewear line. Glasses that work with different standards of 3D, of course, giving you a stylish look. The lenses are Circular Polarized, RealD™ compatible lenses.

After all, the worst thing that can happen is you getting a pair of 3D glasses from the movie theatre that have been worn before and a ding in the side of the frames makes wearing the glasses uncomfortable.
