ALIA brings comfort to the world of high fashion shoes @ CES 2023

ALIA Custom Fit ShoesIf there is one truth in the fashion world, it is that there are two types of shows: comfortable and fashionable. It seems that no one has been able to combine the two categories into one. Either a woman wears sneakers or heels – and never the two shall cross. However, ALIA (Active Lift in Alignment), has a system that allows them to take incredibly accurate measurements and produce a shoe that is both fashionable and comfortable.

What is ALIA?

Dr. Taryn Rose, co-founder and CEO of ALIA, sums up the mission of the company in a straightforward way, saying, “Why can we get a man on the moon, but we can’t get a woman down the street comfortably?” It’s a solid question, as shoes are far from a new product category. With all of the time spent designing shoes, why does it seem that none of that work has ever produced a comfortable high heel?

Sure, the concept of the high heel is not necessarily one focused on comfort. In fact, it is all about accentuating certain parts of the body. But, Dr. Rose believed that there must be a way to do both at once. She decided to include technology in the process in order to produce comfortable and sexy heels for women, as well as comfortable dress shoes for men.

How does it work?

ALIA has includes various materials that are traditionally not found in shoes. For example, the surface area of the shoe that comes into contact with your feet is made out of carbon fiber. This produces a strong outer body that is able to hold the foot in place better and is more stable than just a fabric, while also being incredibly light weight.

In addition to the unconventional materials, ALIA also uses technology in an interesting way. There is an accompanying app that allows you to essentially take a 3D scan of your feet. This gives the company an incredibly accurate measurement of your feet. Using the scan, the company is able to view your foot in various modes.

With the measurements, ALIA is able to recommend or produce a perfectly fitted shoe just for you. Looming at the scan, they can recommend the right shoe for your foot, but also shows where the might be issues with the fit without alteration. For example, a pink highlight on the scan indicates that the area of the show should be enlarged in order to get a perfect fit. Implementing technology into the process allows the company to produce bespoke, made-to-measure shoes at scale, making them available for more people.

Summary

ALIA’s shoes, which sell under the brand name Enrico Cuini, are available to order today. The shoes are not inexpensive, but do fit comfortably into the designer shoe category. The shoes range from around $800 to $2000 for a pair. To learn more about the company, its products, or to order a pair for yourself, you can head over to the company’s brand website.

ScopeMedia gives online fashion retailers a boost @ CES 2021

ScopeMedia fashion assistantAs consumers, the overall process of bringing an already well-established line of products to market seems to be routine and relatively simple in our minds. For example, if we want or need a new suit, we visit retail stores (whether brick and mortar, online, or more commonly by some combination of both) to shop and ultimately make our purchase. As far as the supply chain, we inherently know there are designers, marketers, distributors, advertisers, and wholesalers/retailers involved in the process. However, we usually never stop to consider that, in this day and age, there are many other intricacies involved in helping us get to our final purchases. Actually, there is a lot that goes on behind the scenes for any industry, and especially when trying to improve upon processes and sales growth. The fashion industry is no exception to this. We had the chance to discuss one of these industry improving technologies with Paul from ScopeMedia this year at CES 2021.

As a leading developer of visual-based personalization and recommendation services, ScopeMedia has conducted years of research on Artificial Intelligence (AI) as well as Computer Vision and has developed quite an interesting system. The result is a smart visual recommendation system that involves an innovative fashion index for e-commerce retailers. As internet shopping becomes more prevalent, adding a machine learning approach to all aspects of the design-to-purchase process is a smart path to take.

Their platform can easily be integrated into eCommerce stores to assist retailers to increase customer interest and sales, as well as improve the overall shopping experience. They have a unique Fashion Index model that is specifically designed for the fashion industry. It’s not only good to increase consumer satisfaction and increased sales, but it also helps retailers conduct trend analysis on the back end.

Be sure to watch the entire video to get more information and if you would like to give their technology a try for yourself, you can check out their demo store.

fash\on turns your closet on with a digital closet system @ CES 2021

fash\on digital closet systemJong-Hyun Ko is the founder of fash\on, a Korean company that has developed a Digital Closet tool to make fashion clothing shopping fast and efficient. It’s a brand new company debuting its product at CES for the first time.

The fash\on Digital Closet is designed for the customer who wants fast fashion products and regularly updates their wardrobe with the latest styles. fash\on aims to remove the obstacles that currently make both online and off-line clothing shopping slow and tedious, by separating how customers get product information from their purchasing behavior. In the case of clothing shopping, fash\on believes there’s too much information for shoppers, who can spend nearly an hour trying to find just what they’re looking for as they sort through product descriptions. Their smart Digital Closet solution aims to take the guesswork and the extra time out of the clothing shopping experience.

Company surveys show that people wear 10-20 sets of clothing per season, so what they really want, Jong-Hyun believes, is to buy clothes in their style to mix and match what they already have in their closet. Therefore, the best way to get good fashion recommendations and purchase options are to show clothing stores what’s actually in your closet.

fash\on is a digital tool that does just that, making your closet “smart” and channeling your personal styling into a subscription service. With the tag line, “Turn your Closet On”, the device and companion app help you get personalized and fast styling service, allowing you to shop online or off at your favorite retailers. You register your size with your favorite shops, then take photos of your current clothing collection, and add them to the app to find complementary clothing by color or style at your favorite clothing stores quickly and easily.
