DiabiLive Will Help Remove the Greatest Challenge from Diabetes

DiabiLiveIf you have ever had a family member with Diabetes, you know the extreme toll it takes on everyone involved, but especially the patient. This was the experience that Benoît Mirambeau, co-founder of DiabiLive, was trying to eliminate for his mother. She was experiencing dozens of incidents per month, and had lost her ability to simply live her life.

That is where DiabiLive comes in. It’s an app platform designed to help a Diabetes patient manage their disease through tracking food consumption and exercise, and, more importantly, informing them how best to respond. Taking all of this information into account, patients are able to get a customized, calculated dosage for their insulin. By taking a dosage personalized to your daily activities, you are able to recapture that which is lost: your autonomy. In the case of the founder’s mother, she went from 2 dozen incidents per month to about 3 per month, a decrease that even her doctor cannot believe.

In the US, the app is currently undergoing the preparation steps for FDA certification. Since this is a first-of-its-kind product, it will require a clinical trial before applying to the FDA, and the company hopes to have full certification before the end of 2018.

Omron is A New Breed of Smartwatch, With a Medical Focus

Omron HealthcareA new breed of smartwatch, elevating the playing field of consumer expectations from current industry norms to include accurate heart readings. This is how CEO Ranndy Kellogg introduced Omron’s latest offering to the smartwatch market. Smartwatches have steadily been gaining more and more popularity with consumers in today’s market. The digital display, along with the number of very convenient and popular options, have been important factors in their rise in popularity. Also, users can download compatible apps for their smartphones which allows them to track and monitor their progress has also been an important factor as well.

This is the current staple of the market, and nothing particularly novel, which is exactly what Omron hopes to change with their new addition to the field. Omron a leader in cardiovascular monitoring equipment is now introducing their FDA-approved heart monitoring equipment into their latest offering in smartwatch world. This cutting edge watch includes the same inflatable band that is in the classic blood pressure cuff found in doctor’s offices all over the world, but takes the same technology and minimizes it to fit into the band of the watch itself. Omron’s new gadget is able to take Accurate and Systolic and Diastolic readings, as well as actual EKG readings.

Now, that may not seem like much of a big deal to a non fitness watch enthusiast, but this is an evolutionary step in gaining access to accurate biometric readings instantly and on the go. This paves the way for more accurate, readily-available readings straight from our bodies, given as feedback in response to whatever physical activities we decide to participate in. Fitness watches now, when calibrated properly, will do little more than give you best guess numbers regarding: steps taken, calories burned and total distance walked. Many consumers are big fans of what the average fitness watch can do now, but this new tech hitting the market gives those with existing heart problems, adrenaline-junkies or anyone out there who also is interested in biometric feedback data a lot to be excited for. Oh, don’t forget, you can browse the net, make or take calls, text, review calendar events, and I’m pretty sure it tells the time too.

Amazing Solutions by Capturing The Science of Behavior

DNA BehaviorEmotions play a big part in our lives. How we react to the various social and environmental fluctuations that occur throughout the day can have a major impact on our temperament and decision making processes. The folks at DNA Behavior wanted to know how these factors translate over to making decisions in the world of finance and business. So they took this concept to the next level by coming up with a process for discovering and understanding these triggers, along with their corresponding prescriptive behavior.

The company provides behavior analytics through various tailor-made questionnaires. Their basic questionnaire takes about 10 minutes to complete and can get to the core behavior of an individual. This process goes beyond simply providing a personality profile and gets into predictive behavior to assist financial planners in learning to interact on a more personal level with their clients. Soon, they will be able to identify their clients’ propensity for risk, biases and conditions that impact their decisions. This is also very useful in Business and Human Resources as it allows companies to find the perfect candidates as well as make their current teams more cohesive and productive.

There are several packages available, depending upon the level of insight required by the company. There are also questionnaires available for individuals. Visit their website to learn more and to take one of their demo questionnaires.

Aclima Makes Sense of the World Around Us

AclimaAclima was founded on the premise that planetary health and human health are interconnected. That our environment effects the way do things. They are bridging the gap between ourselves and the natural world in order to create a new awareness and environmental intelligence. To accomplish this, they perform large scale environment sensor networks in buildings and cities.

We now know that the environment around us contributes to our cognitive function. Things like the increased rate of CO2, light, sound, etc., around us can have a significant impact on how we process information and interact with others. Aclima measures these levels in buildings to give companies an idea of where they stand and an understanding of how this impacts human emotion and ultimately even the bottom line.

Our own PLuGHiTz staff found it fascinating to learn how the environment in the convention center changed with increased activity and we were able to directly correlate that to our own moods and interactions as the day progressed. Find out more about this fascinating process in this interview and to learn even more, check out their website.

DopaApp is a Welcomed and Innovative Addition to Rehab

DopaAppDrug addiction is a constant and growing problem that has reached epidemic levels in the United States. Statistics show that the total number of drug rehab patients outnumber the amount of available inpatient rehab beds by staggering ratios. The founders of DopaApp are working hard to not only take a huge strain off of the traditional rehab industry but also make the therapy easier and more accessible to the patients as well as the care providers.

The app, which is available at the Apple App Store and Google Play, combines traditional addiction therapy with a social platform to empower patients, families/support and care facilities by offering increased functionality in a flexible and intuitive format. It’s a virtual treatment center that connects addicts with authorized caregivers. The founders like to consider DopaApp the “13th Step” in the traditional program because of the added support and capabilities that it offers. Features include complete patient profiles, text and video chat, knowledge resources, relapse indicator and more. Patients are able to receive all of this assistance while still maintaining full anonymity by utilizing avatars as well as emotion detection technology for all face to face encounters.

Phase 1 of their operations is focused on getting the app to care facilities for use in conjunction with their current treatment plans to offer to patients as part of their initial and ongoing therapy. Phase 2 will then focus on reaching more new patients to help connect them to authorized care providers.

We found this venture to be fascinating and applaud their efforts to bring technology to help fight the ongoing battle of drug addiction. One of our favorite features is the functionality that allows patients to have a 24/7 life support line with former addicts who have been sober for 10 years or more.

You can get more information about this groundbreaking app on their website.
